VOLUNTEERS

There are several ways to volunteer with us here at Clovis Animal Services. Our volunteers are instrumental in the health and wellbeing of the animals that come into our care. Check out the opportunities to make a difference in the lives of our pets!

Volunteer in the Shelter

Our volunteers are an important part of our operations. When pets come to the Clovis Animal Receiving & Care Center, we do everything we can to ensure they become healthy and vibrant pets ready to be sent for adoption at Miss Winkles Pet Adoption Center, but volunteers add that special touch that these pets need.

Volunteers are tasked with helping ensure animal enclosures are kept clean and they help with socialization of our pets. If you’re interested in making a difference in a pet’s life, please consider volunteering with us!

All volunteers must be 18 years old or older and must go through an application and interview process.

Animal Foster Care Program

Our dedicated animal foster care volunteers are essential to the health and wellbeing of many of the animals that come into our care. We need foster homes for all ages of cats and dogs, but the greatest need is those willing to care for the most vulnerable – our puppies and kittens.

We provide support and resources to our foster volunteers to ensure the best quality of care for the animals, and for the benefit of the foster family.

All foster care volunteers must go through an application and interview process. Foster volunteers must be 18 years old or older, but your younger family members can help you care for them too!

Kitten Foster Care Training

Join us for a foster care training specifically for kittens! Taught by veterinarian Dr. Sue Lynch, you will learn about the basics of kitten care, kitten nutrition, common illnesses that affect kittens and how to prevent them, when to seek veterinary care, and so much more!

This will be both a lecture style class with important information you can take home about kitten health and an interactive class where you will actually get hands-on experience with feeding, expressing and handling kittens, so come prepared to meet some adorable kittens!

Apply to Volunteer

All foster care volunteers must go through an application and interview process. Start the process by emailing your completed Volunteer or Foster Volunteer application to ClovisAnimalServices@CityofClovis.com and someone will be in contact with you about next steps.
